管の下端をばね支持された弾性送水管の面内不安定現象を取り上げた。座屈と自励振動が同時に問題となりうる場合について、線形安定性解析および実験を行なった。初期条件の違いにより、座屈あるいは自励振動が生じる領域があることが明らかとなった。

内部流による弾性送水管の自励的横振動は，下端にとりつけた負荷質量などのパラメータに依存して，面内運動および空間円運動としてあらわれる．本研究では，空間円運動として現れる場合について，管の上端が水平方向に加振された場合をとりあげ，幾つかのパターンの振動が生じることを理論的および実験的に明らかにしている．

下端に付加質量を有する場合，弾性送水管の横振動は複雑な空間運動となることが知られている．本研究で取り上げた問題もこのような複雑な空間運動の一例であり，2次モード成分の面内横振動と3次モード成分の面内横振動が水平面内において直交することを理論的および実験的に明らかにしている．

超音波モータの駆動特性について，その解析手法を新たに提案している．超音波モータの駆動特性の解明には，ロータとステータの接触問題を取り扱う必要があり固着および滑り接触領域が存在する問題を解く必要がある．すなわちこの問題は，非線形弾性接触問題となり，この問題を解く方法として弾塑性解析手法でよく知られている増分理論を適用した有限要素法による解析手法を提案している．

パンタグラフと剛体架線の離線現象を梁と振動する台の振動問題としてモデル化した。梁の横振動を1次と2次の固有振動の重ね合わせで記述し、衝突前後の梁の速度の関係式を力積の概念を用いて誘導している。この関係式をもとに数値計算を行い、実験結果と定性的な一致を確認している。
