This paper introduces a novel network architecture for hierarchical text classification (HTC), which organizes texts according to a predetermined taxonomic hierarchy, addressing the challenges of granularity and label dependencies. Unlike recent studies that predominantly simplify HTC into flat class categorization by employing hierarchical structure encoders – a process that often necessitates significant reinterpretation and thus yields limited improvements in classification accuracy due to its complexity – our model introduces a sophisticated decoder architecture. This architecture is comprised of a trainable net- work that integrates cascading self-attention mechanisms tailored to each classification tier, coupled with a specially designed network that imposes constraints reflective of the hierarchical relationships among classes. This innovative interaction allows our model to effectively extract and learn the crucial text features pertinent to each classification level from the training dataset. Empirical evaluations conducted on the Web of Science academic paper database have validated the effectiveness of our proposed method, highlighting its potential to significantly enhance the accuracy of hierarchical text classification.

対象語を限定しない語義曖昧性解消(all-words WSD)のための新しい教師なし学習モデルを提案す る.all-words WSD は，辞書知識を言語処理に活用する基礎技術として実用化が期待されるが，扱う語義 の種類が膨大で，かつ分布がドメインに強く依存する性質があるため，ラベル付きコーパスの構築を前提と する教師あり学習では実用化を見込むことが難しい.提案法は，ラベルなしコーパスに出現する種々の語 と膨大な語義の間に自然な対応を推定するため，2 つの制約をモデル化する.1) 同じ語の各出現における 語義は，単語タイプごとの事前分布に従う.2) 類似した文脈に出現する種々の語の語義は，各語の語義割 当てを平滑化して得られる分布に従う.これら 2 つの制約を階層モデルによって同時適用することで，教 師なし all-words WSD を実現する.SemEval データセットを用いた実験結果より提案法の有効性を示す.

本論文では，大量入手が容易なラベルなしコーパスを利用して，対象テキストの全単語の語義曖昧性 解消(all-words WSD)を実現する教師なし学習方式を提案する.all-words WSD は膨大な種類の語義を 扱うことから，高コストな語義ラベル付きコーパスの構築を必要としない教師なし方式の実現が期待され る.提案法は，コーパスにおける語の出現文脈と語義の対応のまとまりの良さに着目し，両者の直積の密 度を最大化するように確率的な対応を求めることで教師なし all-words WSD を実現する.SemEval デー タセットを用いた評価実験結果より，類似文脈に出現する異なり語が十分得られれば，ラベルなしコーパ スだけで信頼性の高い曖昧性解消が可能なことを示す.

This paper proposes a novel smoothing model with a combinatorial optimization scheme for all-words word sense disambiguation from untagged corpora. By generalizing discrete senses to a continuum, we introduce a smoothing in context-sense space to cope with data-sparsity resulting from a large variety of linguistic context and sense, as well as to exploit sense-interdependency among the words in the same text string. Through the smoothing, all the optimal senses are obtained at one time under maximum marginal likelihood criterion, by competitive probabilistic kernels made to reinforce one another among nearby words, and to suppress conflicting sense hypotheses within the same word. Experimental results confirmed the superiority of the proposed method over conventional ones by showing the better performances beyond most-frequent-sense base-line performance where none of SemEval-2 unsupervised systems reached.
