    日本海沿岸域に流れ着く漂流ゴミ(海ゴミ)を高解像度の衛星画像を用いて抽出する手法の開発を行った。解像度の高い衛星画像を用いても、小規模の海ゴミの確認は不可能であるため、海ゴミが含まれる画素のスペクトルの異常を利用し抽出する手法を提案した。さらに、日本海沿岸域の場所の違いによる海域のスペクトルの違いについても言及している。
